Friday at Royal Ascot saw Yorkshire-based trainer Julie Camacho land her first Group 1 victory and also a first Royal Ascot success as SHAQUILLE won the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup.
It was a remarkable victory, as Shaquille reared leaving the stall and handed his rivals a lead, but was still comfortably on top at the finish in the hands of Oisin Murphy.
Murphy was on hand to collect the £4,000 prize on behalf of Page Harrison, groom of Shaquille, and said: “I really commend Paige on everything she does on a daily basis, it’s long hours and hard graft in all weathers.
“This is a lovely bonus, thank you to World Pool for putting up the prize. Maybe she [Paige] can go on holiday when Shaquille is having a break, because he would miss her during the main part of the season!”
SHAQUILLE’s jockey, Oisin Murphy, accepts the cheque on behalf of groom Page Harrison.
