King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day

Hukum battled off the challenge of Westover in a thrilling renewal of the King George King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, which also saw record turnover for World Pool bet types on the race of HK$49,364,623.

The G1 contest will be a battle remembered for years to come, but there was another special moment that swayed our judges into looking elsewhere for the World Pool Moment of the Day winner.

RANDOM HARVEST showed a tremendous attitude to land the G3 Valiant Stakes earlier in the day, a victory which marked jockey Saffie Osborne’s first success at Group level in the UK.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of groom Eloise O’Hart, jockey Osborne said: “Eloise does an amazing job with this horse. She’s ridden and looked after her the whole way through her career, so it’s a very special day and great for her to get this prize.

“Random Harvest loves Ascot. It’s an even-climbing track which really suits her and she seems to find her best here. Ed [Walker] has an amazing team that care so much about their job and I’m just the lucky one who gets on top on the day.”

Random Harvest now has a chance of being named World Pool Moment of the Year, which rewards the winning groom with a trip to Hong Kong.

Saffie Osborne accepts the Moment of the Day prize at Ascot Racecourse on behalf of Eloise O’Hart, groom of Random Harvest.
