PYLEDRIVER was named the first horse to win the World Pool Moment of the Day for a second time after taking the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes under P J McDonald.
The William Muir & Chris Grassick-trained six-year-old, who first claimed the prize when landing last year’s King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes, was returning from over 300 days off the track and, despite pulling hard early on, ran out a ready winner.
William Muir said: “They deserve the credit, this man [Babu Singh] looks after him and gets bitten every day of the week!
Babu Singh, groom of Pyledriver, who collected the £4,000 prize, said; “It’s a long time since he ran, and he won. I’m very happy.”
Pyledriver’s work rider Jeta Ram said: “We’re very proud of the horse, everyone loves him. Hopefully it’s the King George next.”
