Tuesday 26 March 2024 – Meydan’s Dubai World Cup meeting will be a World Pool event for the fourth year running this Saturday, where punters in over 25 countries will have access to globally commingled betting pools for eight races, including the G1 Dubai World Cup.

More than 30 G1 winners from 13 different countries are set to line up on the star-studded international card, promising something for punters in all corners of the world, not least the remarkable story of Kabirkhan, whose journey began in Kazakhstan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4RgCggKSVY

For Hong Kong punters there’s plenty of interest this year, with two chances in the G1 Al Quoz Sprint and two in the G1 Dubai Turf, including last year’s BMW Hong Kong Derby winner, Voyage Bubble.

There’s also a glittering line-up of jockeys in attendance.

Frankie Dettori is set to ride outside of America for the first time in 2024 with four rides on the night, headlined by Newgate in the Dubai World Cup, while the likes of Joao Moreira, Christophe Lemaire and Ryan Moore are all in town.

All-conquering Irish trainer, Aidan O’Brien, saddles seven runners, including recent Saudi Cup night winner Tower Of London.

Last year’s eight globally commingled contests totalled HK$315.2m in turnover from World Pool bet types, and the raceday will follow the same schedule again, kicking off with the G2 Godolphin Mile, one of three G2s on the card, and culminating in the G1 Dubai World Cup.

6 bet types will be available to World Pool punters – Win, Place, Quinella, Quinella Place (Swinger), Forecast (Exacta), Tierce (Trifecta).

A World Pool Moment of the Day will also be selected at Meydan, where an outstanding performance or human-interest story will see one lucky groom win HK$40,000.

The winner will also enter the chance to be named World Pool Moment of the Year, which offers a VIP trip to Hong Kong for four people.

The Dubai World Cup meeting will be the third leg of a World Pool triple-header on the day, starting down under with two races from Australian Cup Day at Flemington and further two from Tancred Stakes Day at Rosehill.
